4 Roll Forming Machines in One Container to Chile

When a customer in Chile ordered four cold roll forming machines at once, the machines were only half the story. The other half was freight.

Four machines conventionally mean four containers - four bookings, four sets of port charges, four freight invoices. On the China-Chile route, that line item can decide whether a project is viable at all. So before anything was packed, our engineering and loading team worked the container dimensions first.

How four machines fit in one container

Fitting multiple roll forming machines into a single container is not a matter of luck. It comes down to four decisions made before packing starts.

• Disassembly planning. Columns and guards that can be unbolted are removed and packed separately, cutting machine height by the largest achievable margin.
• Vertical layering. Machine frames are stacked in layers rather than placed on one level, using the container's height instead of only its floor area.
• Using void space. Spare parts, tooling, control cabinets and documentation are packed into the hollow sections inside machine frames - space that would otherwise ship as air.
• Export-grade securing. Every unit sits on a reinforced steel base, wrapped against moisture, and lashed to the container structure for the long ocean voyage.

What the customer saved

The difference between four containers and one is not a discount - it is real money redirected into the business. In this case, the customer's freight budget for one container covered the shipment, leaving room for tooling, spare parts and inventory.
